Singapore Airlines is running a Sweepstakes that will award the winner 2 seats on the delivery flight of the 19th and final A380 that will be entering service with Singapore Airlines.

Entering is easy.  All you need to do is to enroll into the Singapore Airline's Journey program and sign up for a "Passport".  That's all that it takes to enter!  Deadline to enter is August 28.

The flight is scheduled to take place on  September 6 and will depart from the Airbus facilities in Toulouse, France.  The Winner and their guest will be flown by Singapore to Toulouse and be treated to a VIP experience including behind the scenes tour of the Airbus facility, dinners hosted by Singapore and Airbus and two nights in Toulouse.

Singapore Airlines (SQ) recently announced a fare sale for travel between the US and Singapore and other Southeast Asia destinations.  The fare sale ends in 2 weeks, on August 31.

The fares are valid for travel between September 1 and November 30, 2012.

SINGAPORE: KrisFlyer Members Receive 50% Off Online Redemptions On Certain Routes

From April 19 to May 2, Singapore Airlines is offering members 50% discounts for booking award tickets on line for certain routes flown by Singapore or Silk Air.   Tickets must be booked by May 2 and travel must take place between April 19 and June 16, 2012.

Singapore's Scoot Starts Service June 4

Singapore Airlines will launch new low-cost-carrier (LCC) Scoot on June 4 when it takes off on it's inaugural flight from Singapore to Sydney.  Scoot fare's will tend to run 40% less than typical "full service" carriers according to the airline.

Initially the airline will serve Sydney and The Gold Coast with Flights from Singapore.  Ultimately it will add routes to China.


 It will operate 4 Boeing 777 aircraft in a 2 class configuration (business and economy).   By the end of this year, WIFI will be available on all aircraft.
