In a year marred by civil unrest in Cairo which led to the demise of their national leadership, EgyptAir could not be spared from the fall out and saw profits plunge 75% from 2010 levels. The airline reported a slim net profit of $12 million.
In the ATWonline.com article, EgyptAir did suggest that they are planning to expand their routes in 2013 including a route between Cairo and Toronto. Addtionally they will be upgrading their aircraft from the current fleet of 777s and A330s to 787s and A350s between 2020-2025.
